Epsilon Green eco-friendly 4-ply single use surgical facemasks are made using responsibly sourced eco-friendly (biodegradable) materials, derived from plants. The bio-polymer we produce is made from corn , which is a renewable source that needs 65% less energy and emits 68% fewer greenhouse gases during its production.
Our masks are made of over 99.95% biodegradable PLA (polylactic acid) derived from corn-starch that is biodegradable, carbon neutral and even edible. Because corn-starch is biodegradable it can be composted and returned to the soil to provide it with nutrients.
All of Epsilon’s masks are ATSM Level 3 certified, meaning they are ideal for procedures in which there is high risk of fluid exposure (splashes or sprays will be produced), e.g. medical procedures.
